The unmounted Rider Workshops have received a fantastic response.  After running my first workshop at the end of May 2014, I have been asked to run them in other areas and to link in with Riding clubs.  Using a series of exercises, pair work and group work participants achieve a better understanding of how to be more effective and softer in their aids.

The Equibalance Training Facebook page now has over 1800 likes, thank you for your support. x

I am providing Riding and road safety training at a local riding school in Swansea, The Priory Stables in Grovesend are running the Pony Club Road Rider Mini badges. One group of 14 children passed the course in May and there is another one booked for the 28th of June.  Certificates, stickers and badges were presented to the children who took part.

British Dressage invited me to teach at the BD Adult camp held in Abberystwyth in April.  I had four groups of six riders in each and we went through an unmounted session working with gym balls and the mechanical horses.  It was surprising to established dressage riders how on times there was a lack of balance in the saddle, this made them focus and make some changes that will help with problems that they were having with either their riding or the horses way of going.

Zoars Horse and Country Supplies in Neath are holding a Rider Safety and Awareness day on the 17th April at Scurlage Castle Farm Gower.  I'm linked in on this event as a BHS Riding and Road safety trainer.  There will be reps from horsey companies, free hat and bodyprotector fitting, demonstrations and talks.  There will be free worm count analysis.

Free entry and it's in half term so it'll be well worth coming along.

more details are on the Zoars page on Facebook.

Good news for British Dressage members- clinics attended with myself now count towards your Regional training to be considered for team selections.
That's for individual/shared lessons and can be ridden astride or Side Saddle.  Bookings are done with the BD office to count.
Dates will be posted or Let me know if you want to arrange a training clinic.

I have recently been approached to provide a side saddle display at Ffos las Racecourse on the 6th April 2014.                    The event is titled "All about the horse race day" and will be raising money for the injured jockeys fund.  There will be a display of side saddle riding during the races and I will have the Equibalance-Training stand there.  I will be taking a side saddle down for visitors to have a closer look and a sit on.                                                                                                                             There will be other demonstrations and equine related trade stands, I'm sure it will be a great day out.  Gates open at  12PM For more info :

To support the Gower Riding club in its fundraising efforts to get two show jumping teams to Hartpury, I  donated a lesson to be auctioned off on 28th February at Fairwood park Golf Club.

The lesson made a good price and I look forward to providing the training to the winner of the auction lot.

After training with Heather Moffett recently, I'm pleased to say that I am now a Qualified Enlightened Equitation Instructor.  I am the only instructor covering South and West Wales.  I am very happy to be affiliated to Enlightened Equitation which is primarily working towards making better riders and simplifying riding.

When I completed an Equisimulator workshop, I could see the benefit of attending the teacher training which involved being assessed on your teaching ability, instructing using EE methods and having to make changes to the rider which in turn produced amazing results in the horse. During the training we were fortunate to have clients bring their horses for lessons with us trainees, some had travelled up the three hours.  My coaching is stronger as a result of the training I received and I hope to pass these methods of training onto my clients.  For more info follow the link
